Two Poems...One Day
"The Journey"
Photography by sweetmango
Today was a beautiful day, not too hot, but warm. The breeze blew strongly and we seldom have wind where I live. It was a joyful day and I sat upon the earth, leaning against a log in a playground that I wish was both a prototype and a must for all the children of this planet. I sat there and I wrote these two pieces. I wrote them on brown paper bags, my thoughts, unedited, pure and random, just the way that life should be lived.
Today was a beautiful day indeed.
I hope you found beauty in your day also.

Pondering Love
My back against a smooth log
made smooth by the hands of a craftsman
whose true love is wood.
my initial thought had been to wander through
the quagmire of negative oozing through my mind
but the sun is bright
the grass is green
the wind in a playful mood
the sky a shade of forever blue
and try as i might
it is only of love that
i wish to ponder upon
of the way creamy cumulus clouds
kiss the sky, their love eternal
that even during the tempest
dark storm clouds covering
dark sky, the beauty is still apparent
and when the dawn comes and
all trace of aggression is gone
love, once more the victor,
has produced creamy cumulus offspring
and it reminds me that
love will always endure
as long as that is all with which you fill your heart and head
...with thoughts of love.
"Love Leaves"
Photography by sweetmango
To be scared of Love
is to be scared of breathing
every act, every thought, every idea
should arise from Love
it should be a seed from the Tree of Life.
Do not fear the tendrils of Love as
they wind around your soul and
weave their way into the chambers of your heart.
Do not fear the tears, weep, weep only and without holding back
for is it not true that all living things need water to grow
your tears water your ability to love so that it grows larger
than you ever dreamed possible.
Love is alive
I see it in your eyes
I taste it on your lips
I smell it drifting in the air as you walk away.
Do not fear the thing that gives you life.
Close your eyes
and with the greatest of smiles curling your lips
lay back into the arms of your God
and love with all that you possess.
Cultivate Love in your heart
and then you will understand that
you are never alone when you sit with Love in your heart.
When one turns from you and they close their eyes to Love,
do not join them on their journey.
Choose, yes choose to stay in Love
with them, with yourself, with strangers.
Love without condition,
without cause,
without script,
or direction.
Hold your arms out and spin wildly like the colour gold glinting in the sun.
Spin and let arrows of Love pierce the hearts of all who are near to you.
Adore, explore and bask in Love.
You are a child of Love.
and above all...
If it is not of Love, then still your hand, do not move it.
If it is not of Love, then close your eyes, do not reflect it.
If it is not of Love, then deafen your ears, do not listen to it.
If it is not of Love, then seal your lips, do not speak it.
Live in Love for you are a child of Love.

Exquisitely uplifting .... how you pour out your love for us all.
Beautiful poetry and when it just flows I think that is the best. Also, excellent advice!

Wonderful poems and I'd like to weigh in on the second one. I think we too often associate love with romances or involvement with others to achieve a true state of love. But as you present it here, love can be a self nurturing, protective and guiding force that one can cultivate by simply being good to themselves and then passing it onto others. It doesn't have to be a selfish act.
Of course you could have meant other things but that is what I take away from it personally.
I think we fear love because it is, at first scary and the mind can associate it with risk. We get more an more closed off as we get older and we have to fight that on some fronts I believe.
Michelle how is it possible that you have so much talent.
I love both of these but I have to tell you that the second one brought me to tears. Michelle you are love. You know it and recognize it all the time.
Thank you for the kiss yesterday, I need it and I am holding on to it today too.
Love Renee xoxo
I love your words, your blog. Both poems touched deeply. I agree on the wood and children... too few have the chance to explore a trunk...
And love, ahhh, love. Beautiful poem. Something I have been pondering in my own life. Thank you for yet one more perspective to ponder.

Much to my horror, I found you amongst my blocked folowers today! Blogger must have had a fit - he needs to learn to love the way you do :)! Glad you had a lovely day. xxx
I read your opening paragraph as a prose poem and was not disappointed. After that it just got better.
