Feel the LoVe, share the lOvE....

I talked to Stellan about how many people have contacted me about this piece that I wrote for him and how it had touched so many people and seemed to sum up how they felt about a significant other and so we decided we want to 'SHARE THE LOVE' so here it is...
a high resolution copy of the poem 'I believe in You' set over a background of one of my photos of a sunset here in Australia.
Left click on the picture to take you to a separate screen with the picture only, then right click on the picture and choose SAVE AS to save it to your computer.
It is preset to print out the size of an average paper used for printing on computers (A4) or you could print it out onto A4 photo paper or save it to disk and take it to a photo shop to have it printed out as a large photo.
Feel the love, share the love.
namaste to you all

You...

I believe in You
I believe in loving you
I believe in a love that makes no sense
yet at the same time
is the most sensible thing I have ever done.
i believe in forever...
now that I have met you.
I believe in soulmates
and Gods and Universes who know more than I do
in the matters of
love & soul & desire & eternity.
I believe in kissing
as a way to express love when words fail
or become inadequate.
I believe in silences and sighs
and truths revealed at midnight
I believe in whispered futures
and living the dreams of yesterday.
I believe that all who came before you
were merely stepping stones
leading me toward my souls desire
You...
i believe in You.

Once upon a time I met a wise one called Self...

Original Design
by Sweetmango

So one day I sat down and said to myself...."Why?"
and self said "Because you are learning my friend."
"Oh" I said.
"Could you explain it a little more to me please", I asked politely?
"Sure". said self, "You see it goes a little something like this.
Once upon a time God smiled and you were born."
"Just like that?" I asked?
"Yes, a little something like that", said Self.
"Wow", said I, "I didn't realise that I was that important
"Oh but you are", said Self, "Everyone is,
Everyone's life starts with a smile from a God
From that point on it is up to them
whether or not they spend their lives smiling."
"Really?" I asked, "Isn't that a rather big ask
to always smile? no matter what?"
"Is it?" asked Self, "Is it really so very hard?
After all it is nothing more than a choice,
a choice that you make each and every moment,
of each and every day during your journey here.
It is just a choice, pure and simple
yes or no, up or down, happy or unhappy.
Out of that choice lies two outcomes
one of which will fill you with joy
the other will fill you with not so much joy.
However it will provide you the opportunity to learn."
"hmmm", said Self, "Maybe that is why you all enjoy
choosing not to be happy so much of the time,
perhaps you are all eternal students who love to learn."
and Self started to chuckle and overfill with mirth
as she pondered this.
Self was really very lovely, much prettier than I
we were sitting on the banks of a slow flowing river
the sound of the water was so deeply lulling and soothing
the wind stirred lightly, and caressed my lips and face as I turned
my head toward the sun and let Self's soft mirth flow
over my skin. Self sounded like mountain water flowing over rocks
when she laughed. I realised that her laughter satiated my souls
need for beauty and peace and understanding.
I looked at Self and she looked me
a thousand stars dancing in her eyes
"Well," said Self, "Tell me why you think my laughter
is so much more important to you than your own?"
I opened my mouth to reply
and butterflies of the deepest blue floated out
of my mouth and they circled Self and I
before drifting on the breeze to the north.
I watched them as far off in the distance
they danced above the heads of three young children
their three faces lit from within as they danced under the butterflies wings
and as they opened their mouths to laugh
a multitude of butterflies, yellow and red and green
flew from between their perfect little heart shaped lips
and circled their heads twice before catching
the breeze as it sauntered to the east.
"Oh I see" said I
"Yes" smiled Self
and Self started to laugh again at the look of complete understanding
upon my face, her laughter this time was akin
to the sound of the strong and gentle wind on the side
of the mountains as it passes through the fir trees
caressing every needle to bring forth its very own song of love.
Self sang the song of the firs and a thousand butterflies and dragonflies
left her mouth and circled the world.
"Hold my hand" said Self
and as I did the air changed
and we, Self and I, were standing upon Chomolungma.
Everywhere as far as I could see
the earth was covered in the shining colours of laughter
which rose on the wings of the butterflies and dragonflies
and dipped and dove upon the wings of the birds
and from all of these winged messengers
dripped droplets of laughter, the seeds of happiness.
Self looked at me
her face a reflection of all beauty that lay upon this earth
and she touched my face and her eyes
slow danced with my soul
and she leaned close to me, very close
and she whispered in my ear
"Happiness begins with a smile
and laughter is the food that feeds life,
when all else fails
just close your eyes and smile
just close your eyes and smile."
and then she leaned even closer
and kissed me
and she smelt like all the flowers that ever existed
and she leaned so close
that she fell inside of me
and now I feel her laughter flow through my body every day
it rises and swells strong and pure
and retreats softly to shades of peaceful joy
and it is the colour of Love
and when i forget
i just close my eyes and smile.

Love Sonnets 1 & 2 - Mango Style...

Mango & Stellan
Lover Friends

Love Sonnet 1 - Mango Style

She tilted her head to one side
He said she looked like a bird
She smiled and reached up to touch his face
He closed his eyes, breathing deep
She ran her thumb across his lips
He reached for her hand and stilled it with a kiss
She let go of everything, all fears
He wrapped her in his arms
She forgot yesterdays & stopped thinking about tomorrows
He said sweet words that rested in her soul
She put her head into the hollow of his shoulder
He felt a peace not known before, a destiny
She whispered thank you for being you
He replied thank you for knowing me
She sighed & melted into his love
He felt her love trickle into his soul
They became more than they ever had been.

Love Sonnet 2 - Mango Style

One day I was walking
and i came upon a clearing
dappled light and artists everywhere
so i pulled up a stool at an easel
and i started to paint the land
i heard soft, contained laughter
and I looked to my left
and there he sat on a stool
painting my heart in pinks, apricots and blues
he smiled and i knew beauty
he held out his hand to me
and I took it as i got up
and stepped closer to him
I sat upon his lap
and we held the same brush
and as the breeze stirred the leaves
he and I painted our life
we painted laughter all over
and then love in copious amounts
we changed brushes and began
to outline hope, desire and destiny
every now and again
we would kiss, slowly and with great truth
then we would smile
and return to our canvas
we put down the brush
and used our fingers to create
a circle of our future
and it contained five little
hearts made from rainbows
and there were open spaces
on that canvas, left white and blank
ready for the gift of the unknown
the setting sun shone into our eyes
dazzling us, so we closed them
and stood up
he took my hand
and we both hung the painting in the
heart of our home
and we kissed forever

Her...

by sweetmango
wax crayon

"Her"
Moon sat high
just enough light to see the
remnants of last nights
brief but polite thunderstorm
drips from the large oval leaves
like tears rolling off her cheek.
She walked down
the winding trail
each step was taken blindly
not knowing what was on the path ahead.
she stopped, she closed her eyes
and flew.

He handed her a box
a cold thing made of steel
a silver cage
and without hesitation she
put her hand inside
and took out his heart
and threw the box as far away as she could.
she placed his beside hers
she kept their hearts together
like she said she would
because she always keeps a promise
even ones made in the rain following a thunderstorm.

Ahead, down the path
glinting in the moonlight
she could see the ocean
swells heaving and rolling
calm and eternal
so she started walking again
singing to him over her shoulder
meet me by the water tonight
and behind her trailed
all the promises she ever made
because there's something about us
she said.

Where am I he asked
right here she said
as she touched her heart
and he closed his eyes
and the storm stopped
and he stood bathed in the
illumination of the low slung moon
and silver laughter, the colour of the moon
danced from her mouth when he tried to
return her heart
it is not yours to give to anyone, even me
and she closed his eyes and they flew.

HELP I really need somebody HELP....

Stellan and his Dad

Ok, this is a call out for anyone out there who does energy healing work and for all of you who believe in the power of prayer and thought.
Stellans had to literally carry his Dad into the emergency room yesterday (California time) with a ruptured appendix, he has had emergency surgery but remains in Critical Care Unit fighting a pretty big infection.
So I am someone who never really asks for anything from anyone, but today I am asking that all of you who read my blog and believe in positive thoughts/vibes/energy whatever you wish to name it...would you please send some out to Stellans Dad and a little to Stellan and his sister.
And any of you out there who do energy work can you work some magic on him please.
Thank you to you all.
Much love to you all.

A shade of happiness...

Spanish music floats
inviting my soul to dance
away
far away
where everything is
flowers and music
and laughter is the only thing
that rains on a sunny day
where red wine dreaming
is matched with fine food
and smiling faces
promises are made and kept
locked up safe and true
a place where people
look me in the eyes
and i see love
as the sun sets
the dancing begins in earnest
and i spin, laughing circles of joy
and he catches me
an arm around my waist
and pulls me in close
whispering in my ear
his breath smells of spices
exotic and free
as the moon rises high and full
i wander the narrow streets
cobblestone mosaic a dream
beneath my bare feet
red geraniums in terracotta pots
are exclamation points of happiness
on this
my journey.

Of Clouds & Thunder & Kisses...

Photography by sweetmango

she told me i smelt like the clouds
her head was surrounded by a red halo
and she made me think of all
of my barefoot dreams
of waving tall green grass
and open fields of life
i watched the wind blow leaves
and scatter crystal notes upon the ground
india drifted to me on her breath
chanting lilting sweet scent sounds

he called and thunder rolled
and lightening split the sky
and he sang me a lullaby
while i rested in his ears
and i rained kisses upon his face
we dreamed of the blue room
with the waterfall curtain
and laughter fell around us
as five angels flew around our heads
and we drowned in waves of love

Life through the Lens...

I am working on a portfolio of Digital Art Photography and I am loving it. I really enjoy the process behind these works, I have always loved all forms of art and have always been someone who will try anything. I started altering photographs around a year and a half ago. A few months ago I updated my editing equipment and am now discovering a whole new world of Digital Art that I can very easily get lost in. For those of you who are artists of any form and my definition of art is very wide and varied, you will know what I mean by being able to immerse yourself so deeply in a project that time ticks by and what feels like an hour in the middle of the day can suddenly turn into a dark room, lit only by a computer screen, long after the sun has set.

You come to realise that when you get lost in time and concept in this manner that you are immersed in a passion because only a passion can consume our mind, body and spirit so utterly and completely.

So this is one of the things that is filling my days, consuming any spare moments I can garner throughout my day or night....and yes, for all of you getting ready to fire off an email to me LOL, they will be for sale online, I will let you know when they will be in the shop. I am having so much fun creating these visions of my world, showing myself and others how I view the world around me. Not only do I find the process of creating digital art rewarding but I am also in love with the process of getting out into the world and capturing these images. There is something cathartic about wandering around with a camera, it makes you look at the world through a whole new set of eyes. Quite often I will be taking a shot, lining up an impossible angle, only to have people walk by me with the most quizzical looks on their faces! I watch them twist and turn their heads and try to see what it is exactly that I find so deserving of my time and attention with the camera. They cant see it, yet if they saw the end result I know that they would be amazed that they had walked past it unnoticed in the first place.
I see. I think that is one of the things that I do best. I SEE. I see everything, the smallest details, a look, a gesture, a colour, a movement, a line, a sweep, a pattern .... I see.

But more than in Art, I see the people around me, the people who I pass by in my daily life. I see the looks of happiness, sadness, concern, tiredness. I hear beyond their words and see a story not told, a story that is screaming to be heard, to be noticed to be recognised and validated. Sometimes I can help, sometimes I cant, but I will see you and I will do something, even if you are a stranger because lets face it, none of us are really strangers, we all know each other in some way, we all have shared experiences that unite us. I believe that is the greatest gift of being an artist, well for me anyway.... It has refined within me an ability to see what is not so obvious, to look for subtle markers on my journey that help me grow and become more than I was yesterday.

There is such kindness in this world. When I cross the path of this type of beauty, this un-demanding kindness I grow even more, my art flourishes as a result of this growth and people who find beauty in my art and purchase it for their homes will feel a certain peace whenever their eyes wander to the print... this is what is known as 'full circle', when the kindness of one can affect the lives of so many in such a positive way.

Stellan has shown me a kindness such as this and it is making me grow and it is reflecting in my work. Thank you Stellan for your un-demanding kindness, for your love .... I am growing in so many ways because of your gentleness of being and because of your laughter.

I hope you all find the passion within that consumes you, it might be in the garden, in the kitchen in the workshop, in the lives of others ... but wherever it is, whatever it is, embrace it, follow it, it will take you on the most unexpected of journeys ... a journey to your heart.
Namaste to you all.
xxm
